MEDICAL CAMPS IN SLUMS ON THE EVE OF “WORLD HEALTH DAY” ON 07.04.2019

On the World Health Day, the State Legal Services Authority organized 17 Medical Camps throughout the State of Telangana. 282 doctors from various medical fields, such as Paediatrician, General Physicians, Cardiologist, Gynecologist, ENT and others participated in the camps. About 9,702 people, living in the slum areas of various cities, were examined by the specialized doctors. Khammam District spear headed the entire programme with 4,170 persons being examined in the said District. In Warangal District, 1,299 persons were examined. The patients ranged from small children who were examined by the Paediatrician, to pregnant women who were examined by the Gynecologist and Obstetrician, to persons suffering from visual impairment, to senior citizens suffering from cardiac problems. The Legal Services Authority plans to follow up the patients in order to ensure that they continue to receive the medicines required by them, and to ensure that if any other medical equipment is needed by them, the same is made available to them.
